Safety routines
Arrival and dismissal
A class teacher greets each child at the door in the morning and walks each child to the right grown-up in the afternoon. Only the adults on the family's pickup list may collect a child.
Visitors
Every visitor signs in at the office and wears a badge. Parents who help in a classroom sign in the same way.
Drills
We practice fire and weather drills on a calendar the faculty chair keeps, and we tell the children what to expect beforehand.
Allergies
Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll. Each teacher keeps the plan for the children in the room.
Outdoor time
Children go outside every day, with an adult at each edge of the yard, in clothes and boots that suit the weather.
Illness
A child who is unwell stays home until the next morning, and a teacher calls a parent when a child is unwell at school.
